Return to practice (RTP)
We worked with Health Education England (HEE) to identify ways to increase the number of occupational therapists working in health and social care across the UK.
One of the ways of doing this, was by supporting occupational therapists who are not currently practising, to return to the HCPC register and resume their careers. The aim was to help address workforce gaps and tap into a ready-made skilled and experienced workforce.
Our return to practice project helped to:
- create new online resources for returners and those supporting them
- provide a RCOT return to practice internship, consisting of a supervised practice placement for an occupational therapist wishing to return to practice
- deliver two webinars – one for returners and one for those supporting them.
If you have any questions regarding the project, please contact Anne Keen, Professional Adviser – Professional Practice Enquiries Service.
